ZURIG 40mg Tablets contain Febuxostat 40mg, a selective xanthine oxidase inhibitor used to lower serum uric acid levels in adults with chronic gout. Febuxostat works by blocking the enzyme xanthine oxidase, which is responsible for converting purines into uric acid, thereby reducing uric acid production and preventing gout flares and tophi formation.

The 40mg dose is typically used as a starting dose or for patients with mild to moderate hyperuricemia.

Side Effects of (ZURIG 40MG TABLETS):

Common:

1. Liver enzyme elevation (ALT/AST)
2. Nausea, diarrhea
