Product Information:
ZOLID 45mg Tablets contain Pioglitazone Hydrochloride 45mg, the maximum approved dose of a thiazolidinedione (TZD) class oral antidiabetic agent. It works by activating peroxisome proliferator-activated receptor-gamma (PPAR-γ) in adipose tissue, skeletal muscle, and liver, thereby significantly improving insulin sensitivity and reducing insulin resistance—the core defect in type 2 diabetes mellitus.
This high-strength formulation is reserved for patients who require maximal insulin-sensitizing therapy and have not achieved glycemic targets on lower doses.
Uses of (ZOLID 45MG TABLETS):
- Add-on therapy for type 2 diabetes mellitus in adults uncontrolled on lower doses of pioglitazone or other antidiabetics
- Patients with severe insulin resistance (e.g., obesity, PCOS-related diabetes)
- Combination with metformin, sulfonylureas, or basal insulin when intensive glycemic control is needed
Key Benefits of (ZOLID 45MG TABLETS):
- Provides the strongest insulin-sensitizing effect among pioglitazone doses
- Reduces HbA1c by up to 1.5% in clinical studies
- May help preserve pancreatic beta-cell function over time
- Once-daily dosing improves adherence
How To Use (ZOLID 45MG TABLETS):
- Take once daily, with or without food, at the same time each day.
- Swallow whole with water—do not crush or chew.
- Typical use:
- Start at 15mg or 30mg daily, then escalate to 45mg once daily only if HbA1c remains above target after 8–12 weeks
- Continue diet, exercise, and regular blood glucose monitoring.
When Not to Use (ZOLID 45MG TABLETS):
Do not use if you have:
- Type 1 diabetes or diabetic ketoacidosis
- Active liver disease or ALT >2.5× upper limit
- History of bladder cancer (pioglitazone increases risk, especially at 45mg)
- Heart failure (NYHA Class III or IV)
- Hypersensitivity to pioglitazone or any excipients
⚠️ Important: The 45mg dose carries the highest risk of side effects, including bladder cancer and fluid retention. Use only when benefits clearly outweigh risks.
