ZAVGET 20mg Tablet contains Vilazodone Hydrochloride 20mg, a serotonin modulator and stimulator (SMS) that functions as a selective serotonin reuptake inhibitor (SSRI) and a partial agonist at 5-HT₁A receptors. This dual mechanism enhances serotonergic neurotransmission in the brain, providing antidepressant effects with a potentially improved side effect profile—particularly regarding sexual dysfunction and weight gain compared to traditional SSRIs.

The 20mg strength is typically used as an intermediate dose during titration in the treatment of Major Depressive Disorder (MDD).

⚠️ Critical Note:

Vilazodone must be taken with food (at least 300 kcal). Absorption is reduced by ~50% if taken on an empty stomach, which may lead to treatment failure.
