Cefixime has enhanced activity against Gram-negative bacteria, including Haemophilus influenzae, Moraxella catarrhalis, and many strains of Escherichia coli and Proteus mirabilis, while retaining activity against common Gram-positive organisms like Streptococcus pneumoniae.

This high-strength formulation is used for the treatment of moderate to severe bacterial infections in adults.
