Product Information:
VONOZAN 10mg Tablets contain Vonoprazan Fumarate 10mg, a first-in-class potassium-competitive acid blocker (P-CAB) that suppresses gastric acid secretion by reversibly inhibiting the H⁺/K⁺ ATPase (proton pump) in gastric parietal cells. Unlike traditional proton pump inhibitors (PPIs), vonoprazan acts rapidly, does not require acid activation, and provides more consistent and potent acid suppression, even in CYP2C19 poor metabolizers.
This novel agent is used for the treatment of acid-related disorders such as gastric and duodenal ulcers, gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD), and Helicobacter pylori eradication therapy.
Uses of (VONOZAN 10MG TABLETS):
- Treatment of gastric and duodenal ulcers
- Management of erosive esophagitis and GERD
- Maintenance therapy for GERD symptom control
- Part of triple or dual therapy for H. pylori eradication (combined with antibiotics)
Key Benefits of (VONOZAN 10MG TABLETS):
- Faster onset of acid suppression vs. PPIs (within hours)
- Longer duration of action—sustained 24-hour pH control
- Not affected by CYP2C19 polymorphisms—consistent efficacy across all patients
- Higher healing rates for ulcers and erosive esophagitis
- Once-daily dosing for convenience
How To Use (VONOZAN 10MG TABLETS):
- Take once daily, with or without food (unlike PPIs, food does not affect absorption).
- Swallow whole with water—do not crush or chew.
- For H. pylori eradication: Typically combined with amoxicillin + clarithromycin (or metronidazole if penicillin-allergic) for 7–14 days.
- Duration of therapy:
- Ulcers: 4–8 weeks
- GERD: 4–8 weeks for healing; may continue for maintenance
- H. pylori: 7–14 days
When Not to Use (VONOZAN 10MG TABLETS):
Do not use if you have:
- Hypersensitivity to vonoprazan or any excipients
- Concomitant use of rilpivirine-containing HIV medications (risk of reduced antiviral efficacy)
- Severe hepatic impairment (use with caution)
⚠️ Note: Long-term acid suppression may increase risk of infections (e.g., C. difficile) and nutrient malabsorption.
Side Effects of (VONOZAN 10MG TABLETS):
Common:
- Diarrhea, abdominal discomfort
- Headache, nausea
- Elevated liver enzymes (ALT/AST)
Less common:
- Constipation, flatulence
- Rash, dizziness

Dosage: (VONOZAN 10MG TABLETS):
- Gastric/duodenal ulcer: 10–20mg once daily for 4–8 weeks
- GERD/erosive esophagitis: 10–20mg once daily for 4–8 weeks
- H. pylori eradication: 20mg twice daily + antibiotics for 7–14 days
- Maintenance GERD: 10mg once daily

Warnings & Precautions:
- Monitor magnesium and vitamin B12 levels with long-term use (>1 year)
- Rule out gastric malignancy before starting therapy in patients with alarm symptoms (weight loss, dysphagia, GI bleeding)
- Use caution in osteoporosis—long-term acid suppression may reduce calcium absorption
- Avoid with rilpivirine (HIV drug)
Drug Interactions:
- Rilpivirine: ↓ Antiviral efficacy—avoid combination
- Methotrexate: ↑ Toxicity risk—monitor levels
- Digoxin, tacrolimus: Altered absorption due to pH changes
