NIMIXA 200mg Tablets contain Nimesulide 200mg, a selective COX-2 inhibitor belonging to the class of nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs). It works by preferentially inhibiting the cyclooxygenase-2 (COX-2) enzyme, reducing the production of prostaglandins involved in pain and inflammation, while sparing COX-1 (which protects the gastric mucosa)—though not entirely.

⚠️ Important Regulatory Note:

Nimesulide is banned or restricted in many countries (including the EU, USA, Canada, and Japan) due to risk of severe hepatotoxicity (liver damage). In Pakistan, it remains available only for adults ≥12 years and for short-term use (≤15 days) under strict medical supervision.
