Product Information:
NEBIL 2.5mg Tablets contain Nebivolol 2.5mg, a highly selective beta-1 adrenergic receptor blocker with unique vasodilatory properties mediated through nitric oxide (NO) release. Unlike conventional beta-blockers, nebivolol reduces blood pressure while preserving or even improving peripheral blood flow and does not cause significant bradycardia at lower doses.
This low-strength formulation is ideal for initiating therapy, use in elderly patients, or those with comorbidities requiring gentle blood pressure control.
Uses of (NEBIL 2.5MG TABLETS):
- First-line or add-on treatment of essential hypertension
- Management of chronic stable heart failure (as adjunct therapy in select patients)
- Off-label: Migraine prophylaxis, essential tremor
Key Benefits of (NEBIL 2.5MG TABLETS):
- Dual action: Beta-blockade + vasodilation = effective BP lowering with fewer side effects
- Cardioselective—minimal impact on bronchial smooth muscle (safer in mild COPD)
- Improves endothelial function and arterial stiffness
- Once-daily dosing for consistent 24-hour control
- Well-tolerated starting dose for sensitive individuals
How To Use (NEBIL 2.5MG TABLETS):
- Take one tablet once daily, preferably in the morning, at the same time each day.
- Swallow whole with water—can be taken with or without food.
- Do not stop abruptly—taper gradually under medical supervision to avoid rebound hypertension or angina.
- Full antihypertensive effect may take 1–2 weeks.
When Not to Use (NEBIL 2.5MG TABLETS):
Do not use if you have:
- Acute or decompensated heart failure
- Sick sinus syndrome or 2nd/3rd-degree AV block (unless paced)
- Resting heart rate <50 bpm
- Cardiogenic shock or severe hypotension
- Severe hepatic impairment
- Hypersensitivity to nebivolol
Side Effects of (NEBIL 2.5MG TABLETS):
Common: Mild headache, fatigue, dizziness, nausea.
Rare: Cold extremities (less than other beta-blockers), sleep disturbances, erectile dysfunction.
Serious (rare):
- Worsening heart failure (in unstable patients)
- Bronchospasm (use cautiously in asthma/COPD)
- Symptomatic bradycardia or hypotension

- Patients with concomitant conditions requiring gentle hemodynamic control
Warnings & Precautions:
- Avoid abrupt discontinuation—risk of rebound hypertension or myocardial ischemia
- May mask tachycardia during hypoglycemia in diabetics
- Use cautiously in peripheral arterial disease (though less vasoconstrictive than other beta-blockers)
- Monitor heart rate and blood pressure regularly during titration
Drug Interactions:
- Verapamil, diltiazem, digoxin: ↑ Risk of bradycardia or AV block
- Amiodarone: Additive heart rate reduction
- Insulin/oral hypoglycemics: May obscure hypoglycemia symptoms
- NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen): May reduce antihypertensive efficacy
