GETRYL 4mg Tablets contain Glimepiride 4mg as the active ingredient. Glimepiride is a second-generation sulfonylurea used in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It works by stimulating insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells and enhancing insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues, thereby reducing both fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels.

This high-strength formulation is used when lower doses (1–3mg) fail to achieve adequate glycemic control and represents a step toward the maximum recommended daily dose.

When Not to Use (GETRYL 4MG TABLETS):

Do not use if you have:

3. Hypersensitivity to glimepiride or other sulfonylureas
4. Pregnancy or breastfeeding (insulin is preferred)

Side Effects of (GETRYL 4MG TABLETS):

Common: Hypoglycemia (sweating, tremor, dizziness, hunger), weight gain, headache, nausea, fatigue.

Rare: Elevated liver enzymes, skin rash, photosensitivity, hyponatremia.

Serious (rare but more likely at higher doses):

1. Severe hypoglycemia (confusion, seizures, loss of consciousness)
2. Hemolytic anemia (in G6PD-deficient patients)
3. Cholestatic jaundice or hepatitis
4. Discontinue and seek immediate medical help if severe symptoms occur.
