GETRYL 2mg Tablets contain Glimepiride 2mg as the active ingredient. Glimepiride is a second-generation sulfonylurea used in the management of type 2 diabetes mellitus. It works by stimulating insulin secretion from pancreatic beta cells and improving insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues, thereby reducing fasting and postprandial blood glucose levels.

This intermediate-strength formulation is commonly used for maintenance therapy or when 1mg provides insufficient glycemic control.

When Not to Use (GETRYL 2MG TABLETS):

Do not use if you have:

4. Pregnancy or breastfeeding (insulin is preferred)

Side Effects of (GETRYL 2MG TABLETS):

Common: Hypoglycemia (sweating, tremor, dizziness, hunger), headache, nausea, weight gain.

Rare: Elevated liver enzymes, skin rash, photosensitivity.

Serious (rare):

1. Severe hypoglycemia (confusion, seizures, loss of consciousness)

3. Cholestatic jaundice or hepatitis
4. Discontinue and seek immediate medical help if severe symptoms occur.
