Product Information:

FORMIGET 200/6 mcg Capsules contain a fixed-dose combination of:

1. Formoterol Fumarate 6 mcg – a long-acting beta₂-adrenergic agonist (LABA)
2. Budesonide 200 mcg – an inhaled corticosteroid (ICS)

This combination is used for the maintenance treatment of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD). Formoterol provides rapid and sustained bronchodilation, while budesonide reduces airway inflammation. The capsule is designed for use with a dry powder inhaler (DPI) device (e.g., Turbuhaler or equivalent).

⚠️ Note: These capsules are for oral inhalation only—not for oral ingestion.

1. Maintenance treatment of moderate to severe asthma in adults and adolescents (≥12 years) not controlled with ICS alone

Do not use if you have:

1. Hypersensitivity to formoterol, budesonide, or any excipients

3. Severe milk protein allergy (some DPI devices contain lactose)
4. Uncontrolled cardiac arrhythmias or severe heart disease (use with caution)

Side Effects of (FORMIGET 200/6 MCG CAPSULES):

Common: Headache, tremor, palpitations, throat irritation, hoarseness, oral candidiasis (thrush).

Rare: Tachycardia, muscle cramps, hypokalemia, adrenal suppression (with long-term high-dose use).

Serious (rare): Paradoxical bronchospasm, pneumonia (in COPD patients), glaucoma, cataracts.

Discontinue and seek help if breathing worsens immediately after use.

1. Adults & adolescents (≥12 years):
2. Asthma: 200/6 mcg once or twice daily (max 4 capsules/day)
3. COPD: 200/6 mcg twice daily

Drug Interactions:

3. Ketoconazole, ritonavir: May increase budesonide levels

Additional Information:
